NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY

July 29th is National Lasagna Day, one of the most internationally known Italian dishes, considered by culinary historians to be the oldest pasta.

 

Although gastronomy scholars still debate the origins of this preparation, the Oxford Companion to Food He points out that he has as an ancestor the laganon, a Greek flat cake that the Romans cut into strips and called lagani, favorite of the philosopher Cicero.
