NATIONAL LASAGNA DAY
July 29th is National Lasagna Day, one of the most internationally known Italian dishes, considered by culinary historians to be the oldest pasta.
Although gastronomy scholars still debate the origins of this preparation, the Oxford Companion to Food He points out that he has as an ancestor the laganon, a Greek flat cake that the Romans cut into strips and called lagani, favorite of the philosopher Cicero.
In medieval times in the Mediterranean area, pasta was left to dry in the sun and cut with a special utensil to be cooked in dishes.
Lasagna (from Italian) lasagna) is a dish that we can adopt on our family table, since it combines cereals, meat and vegetables.
We can add red or white meats, with vegetables - such as spinach, chard or zucchini - which allows us to increase the fiber intake, in addition to the tomato and carrot in its delicious sauce.
We must not forget the important contribution of Calcium, with the white sauce and the Parmesan cheese for gratinating.
It's the perfect time of year to incorporate this dish; we invite you to prepare it and enjoy it on the 29th! (Along with our friend Garfield).
