«Reduce, reuse and recycle».
These three actions focus on reducing waste, either through the conservation of raw materials and energy, or through the reuse and recycling of products. You can contribute to reducing waste when you are aware of what you buy and reconsider what to do with it when it is no longer useful. There are also many simple habits you can adopt that will allow you to consume less water and electricity.
For example:
- Buy products with less packaging.
- Wash recyclable bags.
- Don't buy disposable products.
- Reduce energy consumption in rooms where there are no people.
- Use less water, for example in the duration of your daily showers.
- Do not accept spam or paper invoices if they can be replaced by email.
- Use alternative transportation whenever possible.
- Opt for the stairs.
- Buy and donate clothes.
- Sort the trash.
- Turn food waste into fertilizer for your garden.
